It’s not uncommon for a lower shock spring cup to go flying off in the event of a bad crash (or tangle with another car). When that happens, the performance of your ride drops dramatically, as does your chances for winning a race.
AVID RC has addressed this issue with the release of their Avert Aluminum Spring Cups. These cups feature a unique, angled slot that makes it a lot harder to pop off. They have a tall inner perch that prevents the spring from being knocked out of position and are equivalent to Associated’s +5 spring cup (in height). Make of 6061-T6 aluminum, these spring cups are anodized black, weigh only 1.3g each and have the AVID RC logo laser etched into them.
