MIP Box – Team Associated B5M Aluminum Transmission

MIP Box – Team Associated B5M Aluminum Transmission

Mid-motor (MM) buggies tend to had better cornerspeed than their rear-motor (RM) counterparts. The drawback to the MM design is that these buggies don’t exhibit the punch that RM buggies have. The main reason is that the MM transmission includes 1 extra gear inside it; 4 gears instead of 3. To offer the best of both worlds, MIP has released their BOX, a MM transmission for Team Associated’s B5M that only utilizes 3 gears!

To add further benefits over the 4-gear tranny, MIP has made the BOX out of 7075 aluminum, meaning more precise internal gear mesh, less overall heat, and stiffer bracing. To top it off, MIP states that this aluminum transmission is only slightly heavier than the stock 4-gear transmission.

Not convinced? Check out it’s track record so far: TQ/1st at the 2014 JC Nationals at RC Excitement; TQ/1st in the stock buggy class at the 2015 CRCRC Midwest Champs! I think I’m sold!
