O.K.! I’ve only done these once long ago, but no one had heard of me then & the requests have been many! So, yeah, I’m gonna do ONE more batch & that’s it- All you chaps who begged me, the time is now…
There are 2 kinds of hubs here- One is FUNCTIONAL, a replacement/upgrade for Locking-Hub 3-Speeds: And one NON-FUNCTIONAL, basically a nut cover to Burly-Up your truck. I shall broach both:
FUNCTIONAL Locking Hubs- These are one thing that has been needed for a LONG time by chaps with the original Tamiya ‘Locking-Hub’ trucks. The kit versions are very fragile, impossible to find, expensive as Hell if you do, and Fugly as the North end of a Southbound mule. I’ve heard from a lot of guys that their cherished 3-Speed is only 2WD now due to rounding-out of the factory units. I can fix that, and make your rig MUCH nicer-looking simultaneously! There is only 1 guy on the planet bothering to make these, so if you snooze now, you WILL regret it one day, methinks.
NON-FUNCTIONAL Hubs- These are for regular, non-3-Speed trucks (Axial, other Tamiya, etc.) to give you the Manliest hubs extant. They have a hole that fits a Tamiya 4-way wrench, so you simply take off your nut, slide the back of the new hub on, replace the nut, and screw on the cap for InstaBadness! It is suggested that you have a ‘deep’ wheel with about 1/2″ edge to face, and a flat area at least .645 (16.5 mm.) across for the base to sit on.
These are for the guys who want to ‘Serious-Up’ their rig, make it work properly, and make their peers throw a sadness! CNC 6061-T6 Aluminum with 6 Stainless Steel screws per hub. Satin-finish, glass-beaded bodies. Brand-specific engraved caps. Tough, pretty, mean, and Manly! Let’s face it, these trucks are not cheap: Nor are these hubsets. That’s because what I do is not for everybody: I spare no detail to ensure that these are the very best they can be, and back it up with a guarantee- If you open the package and see these in person, and your lower jaw does not fall to the floor, send them back in as-received condition for a full refund of purchase price, minus shipping (if applicable.) The few chaps who’ve seen these so far tell me these are gonna be huge to collectors of these trucks, so if you know one, it would be appreciated by them and myself if you forward this Email along!
You have 2 brand choices here: Either ‘Chevrolet’ or ‘Toyota’ script on Black-Anodized caps. Black caps will have a silver center bar so they pop: You simply ink the script in & lightly sand, as in the photos. A set includes 4 Satin finish hub bodies, 4 Caps w/Logo choice, and 24 0/80 SS screws (.050 wrench required.)
