The same applies in the world of Radio Control, which is why RC Short Course Trucks have become so popular, and which is why the ECX Torment has proven itself to be amongst the toughest and gnarliest of recreationally biased RC SCTs available today.
The ECX Torment BL takes off where the standard Torment leaves off – building upon the solid reputation, sheer strength and assured handling of its stable-mate by adding the phenomenally powerful Dynamite Tazer Brushless Power system to give the Torment BL real unlimited-class levels of power and performance.
Still 2WD, the Torment BL can light up its rear wheels with a snap of the throttle for tail-sliding, wheel-spinning fun whilst the high-lift chassis design helps ensure that the Torment BL won’t get snagged up unnecessarily when you’re tackling the badlands. The transmission is still protected by an adjustable slipper clutch that’s designed to help isolate impact loads but the transmission has been upgraded to handle the brushless power by fitting all-metal gears to the 3-gear reduction unit.
To make the most out of the powerful, 4-pole 3300Kv motor, the Waterproof ESC is powered by an uprated, 7-cell 8.4V NiMH battery – thus giving LiPo levels of performance whilst retaining the user-friendly chemistry of the Nickel based cell structure. Waterproof electronics, courtesy of Dynamite and Spektrum wrap up this powerhouse to provide all-weather action and the Torment BL is finished off with an attractively pre-finished styled SCT style of body shell that almost encourages a little bit of wheel banging and body rubbing – as after all, rubbin’s racing – right?
