MIP’s lightweight diff kit for 1:10 scale vehicles has proven extremely effective on the track, so why wouldn’t this work for larger scale rides? Well MIP prototyped up some parts and found just that; lighter weight diff parts helped the lower the spool up time enough to make a difference.
Included in this kit are a pair of 7075 aluminum cross pins that save approximately 30% rotating mass. In addition, the cross pins are spiral cut to help improve oil cooling. Also improved are the one-piece standoffs that keep the pins and gears in perfect alignment. Finally, the sun gear washers are made of high-quality steel that will reduce wear on the diff housing.
