Tamiya TRF419X Touring Car Chassis Kit

Tamiya TRF419X Touring Car Chassis Kit

The TRF419X is an tweaked version of Tamiya’s TRF419, using the same layout but having a few updated parts to boost performance.

New parts include the Big Bore shocks that have been shortened in length to fit the shock towers that now sit lower than the previous model. This lowers the overall CG as well as allowing the use of low-nose Tamiya sports car bodies. The front has an updated 05G suspension mount that is .5mm lower than the previous 1XD-F, lowering the roll center and boosting corner stability. The suspension arms have been molded in a new material and ballast weights are included to alter weight balance. A cool feature is the detachable camber link mount system. This system is altered using shims to space the link out in small increments … you are no longer hindered by using pre-set holes.

In addition, Tamiya has added some new parts along with the re-designed parts. Here’s a list of what to expect:

Newly-Designed Parts
• Super Short Big Bore Oil Dampers
• Aluminum Front Suspension Mount

Re-Designed Parts
• Suspension Arms
• Duralumin Front/Rear Bulkheads
• Motor Mount
• Servo Mount
• Rear Uprights
• Damper Stays
• Aluminum Battery Holders with slots for strapping tape

All in all, this car looks fantastic, and we’re lucky enough to be on the list to review one of these when it finally hits the shelves. Look for a full write-up soon!
