The 2nd annual January Jam held at the Flowood indoor R/C park in Flowood Mississippi had over 120 entries. Billed as one of the largest events in the southeast racers from all over the region converged to the event.

Panther Team Driver Kevin Hawkinson qualified 4th In Pro electric 1/8 E-Buggy. Triple A-mains for the electric 1/8 E-buggy recap: The first main Kevin was on super soft raptors with white foams. There was no rubber down so I needed something soft that would roll over a bit which resulted in a 4th due to a bad start. The second main Kevin was running super soft raptors with panther molded foam insert to take a little side bite away, at this point there was a lot of rubber down, Kevin suffered a mechanical and Dnf’d. The 3rd and final main Kevin again ran the super soft raptors and panther molded foams. The car was great and allowed Kevin to bring home the win. This gave Kevin a 4-1 for third overall.

In pro nitro buggy Kevin again went with super soft raptors for the first two qualifiers with great results. The final qualifier he put on some super soft switch 2.0′s. His times picked up .4 a lap! This placed him 10th for the 30 minute main. In the main he started 10th and found himself in second after 10 minutes. Kevin kept it clean and with some great fuel stops by his pit man William Ables he held that position until around the 20 min mark. 3rd caught me and snuck by so he decided to duck in and hang with him. Kevin was able to hang on to third for the rest of the race.
