Now in its 16th year, the Hot Rod Hobbies Shootout attracts top racers around the country for a hot weekend of competition on the famous, high-speed Southern California track. Jimmy Babcock and the Hot Rod Hobbies crew yet again provided a high level of organization that racers have come to expect from events of this magnitude.

Reedy/AE factory driver Ryan Maifield is a threat in any class he enters, but is particularly strong in the premier 1:10 off-road class, 2WD Modified. Driving a Reedy-powered Centro-converted B4.2 Factory Team buggy, Maifield topped the time sheets in qualifying round three, followed by the fastest time of the weekend in qualifying round four to capture the pole position for Sunday’s triple A Mains.

Maifield won A1 early Sunday morning to put the pressure on the rest of the field. In A2, Maifield once again displayed his dominance with another win – and the HRH Shootout 2WD Modified title.

Congratulations to all the participants and to Hot Rod Hobbies for hosting another outstanding event.
