Event Name: Austrian Bike Challenge Round #5
Event Location: Kirchberg, Austria
Event Date(s): July 2, 2011 to July 3, 2011

The following report was filed by team rider Thomas Feilner:

Round #5 of the Austrian Bike Challenge took place July 2-3 at the beautiful Stöhr Ring in Kirchberg, Austria.

The weather was not perfect, but almost completely dry with only one short rain shower on Saturday morning and heavy rain on Saturday night after timed practice had been completed. On Sunday we had some rain drops, but not enough to affect the racing.

The track was resurfaced a few weeks ago and the conditions were perfect – no bumps and plenty of grip. The track is a bit narrow in some sections which make it quite challenging to drive!

Team Reedy/Thunder Tiger competed with four riders. Edi Winter, Aaron Kranewitter and Bernard Renner competed in the Superbike Category while Thomas Feilner competed in the Stock Category.

In the Superbike class the Reedy powered SB-5 team riders were dominant. Winter took the win with Kranewitter in second. Renner just missed making it a podium sweep with a fourth place finish.

The Stock class was again a battle between Thomas Feilner and “Dirty-Merti” Christian, but young Austrian privateer rider Stefan Polydor (SB-5) was chasing them and managed to split the pair due to good driving and few mistakes. Thomas Feilner claimed the top step of the podium while Dirty Merti finished third.

Look for another strong performance from the Reedy/TT bike team at the final race of the Austrian Bike Challenge July 30-31 in Nussdorf!
