Ryan Maifield takes big victory in Expect Pro 4 modified; top qualifies Expert Pro 2 modified with JConcepts. Brent Calvert takes 2 wins in the Expert 17.5 classes.

The 2011 Reedy Truck race was back at Hot Rod Hobbies with a full cast of the nation’s hottest truck racers ready to do battle in 3 different classes of competition. Ryan Maifield struck quickly in the Expert Pro 2 class taking the TQ honors after just 2 rounds of qualifying. Ryan ran his ROAR National Championship setup of Hi-Flow body, Bar Codes tires and Hazard +3 wheels on the Factory Team SC10. Jared Tebo Qualified 2nd and Ryan Cavalieri 3rd.

Expert Modified truck was heavily contended with all the major teams racing the same event for the first time in quite some time. Jared Tebo shuffled to the top after 2 rounds with Ryan Maifield 2nd and Ryan Cavalieri 3rd. In the Expert Pro 4 class it was a battle between Ryan’s with TQ up for grabs going all the way to the last lap of round 3 where Ryan Cavalieri took the TQ with the SC10 4×4. Ryan Maifield qualified 2nd and Mike Truhe 3rd. JConcepts driver Brent Calvert took the top qualifying honors in the Expert 17.5, 1/10th and SCT truck classes. Punisher body and Bar Codes tires topped off Brent’s TQ vehicles.

Expert Pro 4 A1 started with Cavalieri grabbing the early lead but a bobble going down the step-downs allowed Maifield to squeak by and into the lead. Maifield took a huge lead and hammered down on the competition all the way to the finish taking A1 in style. Cavalieri finished 2nd and Dakota Phend 3rd. A2 began somewhat similar with the Ryan’s doing damage in the early going. Maifield once again emerged out front and led the field in the opening minutes. Maifield was too hot to handle in this class and ran away from the field earning his 1st overall win of the day. Ryan Cavalieri finished 2nd and Dakota Phend 3rd. A3 would be a battle for 2nd place between Ryan Cavalieri and Dakota Phend. Dakota used a good start to stay out front and clean, taking the A3 victory. The final finishing order, Ryan Maifield 1st, Dakota Phend 2nd and Ryan Cavalieri 3rd. Ryan Maifield’s SC10 4×4 was fitted with JConcepts Hi-Flow body, JConcepts tires in green compound, Hazard +3mm wheels, profiled closed cell inserts and 4mm serrated wheel nuts.

Expert Pro 2 got underway with Ryan Maifield taking the win in A1 with Dakota Phend 2nd and Jared Tebo 3rd. A2 saw Maifield leading once again and a small bobble with a minute to go opened the door for Jared Tebo to take the win. A3 was much the same, Maifield led out and after about 3 minutes made a slight bobble which once again allowed Jared to get by to take the overall win. The final finishing order was, Jared Tebo 1st, Ryan Maifield 2nd and Ryan Cavalieri 3rd. Ryan Maifield’s Factory Team SC10 was decked out with JConcepts including Hi-Flow body, JConcepts tires in green compound, Hazard +3mm wheels, 8/32 serrated wheel nuts and profiled closed cell inserts.

In the Expert 17.5, 1/10th truck and SCT classes Brent Calvart was untouchable TQ’ing both classes and winning both of the first 2 A-mains on his way to a dominating weekend in the 17.5 classes. Brent choose the JConcepts Punisher T4.1 body on his truck along with Bar Codes tires in orange compound mounted on Rulux wheels in the 1/10th truck class. In the SCT class Brent also utilized Bar Codes in orange compound mounted on Rulux wheels.

Congratulations to all the winners and the Hot Rod Hobbies crew on another amazing event. 2011 Reedy Truck Race was one to remember and everyone is already looking forward to next year.
