RC Tuning - Trailing Axle

The trailing axle provides the best overall steering feel.

Navigation Arrow What is a Trailing Axle?

Most vehicles come standard with Trailing  Axles. This puts the Axle BEHIND the kingpin, making the car easier to drive.

Navigation Arrow Tuning with a Trailing Axle

Trailing Axles are standard on most vehicles. They provide the best overall steering feeling. Trailing Axles are much less aggressive than Inline Axles, and that is the reason they should be used on high-grip or ‘blue groove’ tracks.

In addition, some vehicles use spacers to move the steering block/caster block assembly forward or rearward. With the Trailing Axles, the steering block/caster block should be forward.
