The List – November 2015

The List - November 2015

Welcome to the November 2015 edition of The List. There were quite a few car releases again last month as well as some pretty cool scale wheels, and we even picked out something that is truly functional and could work for almost every full-bodied car out there! Check it out!

The List - November 2015 - Kraken RC Vekta5 1:5 Scale Buggy
The List – November 2015 – Kraken RC Vekta5 1:5 Scale Buggy
1. Kraken RC Vekta5 1:5 Scale Buggy
The first item on The List is a stunningly gorgeous 1:5 scale ride from Kraken RC. The Vekta.5 is a ground up design that looks like no other 1:5 scale! It’s modeled completely after a full scale, Class 1500 Unlimited Buggy complete with roll cage, centrally-mounted transmission and an awesome 4-link rear end that just looks bad ass! This buggy comes as either a roller or ARTR – the ARTR is powered by a 32cc Zenoah G320 engine. Aluminum 38mm shocks, CNC-machined gears and an adjustable slipper clutch are all included. This is one big beast – something you just can’t help but want! It’s certainly different than any other 1:5 scale out there, and deserving of a spot on this month’s The List!

2. Gear Head RC 2.2 M-220 Aluminum Wheels
If you haven’t heard of Gear Head RC, just skip what I have to say and click their link below. To sum things up, they have one of the best selections of 1.55, 1.9 and 2.2 wheels on the market – and they’re all awesome! You can get them in different designs, all set up as beadlocks for the ultimate tire grip. They will fit most crawlers and add a customized look, whether you’re rock crawling, trail riding or using them on your shelf queen. I have a few sets (my favorite being the 2.2 CAC’s), and can vouch for their extreme durability and how much attention my Wraith and SCX10 get when I show up to an event. Check them out!

The List - November 2015 - Axial RR10 Bomber
The List – November 2015 – Axial RR10 Bomber
3. Axial RR10 Bomber
Axial is not afraid to be a little different – maybe that’s why I like them so much. Their new RR10 Bomber is a pure-bred rock racer, designed after the 1:1 full scaler of KOH driver Randy Slawson. This truck shares some parts with the Yeti, but most of it is new and updated to bring out the best on the rocks. Not only is it an extremely functional ride, Axial has also teamed up with companies like King, BFGoodrich and Walker Evans to replicate their products to the T. I love what you’re doing, Axial, so you’re once again earned a spot on The List!

The List - November 2015 - Protoform 1:8 Aero Kit
The List – November 2015 – Protoform 1:8 Aero Kit
4. Protoform 1:8 Aero Kit
I know, I know, some of you might be thinking why a couple pieces of plastic that are taped to the inside of a body would be groovy enough to be on this month’s The List. Well, it made The List for that exact reason! These are just some voodoo scrap Lexan, these pieces help keep your 1:8 scale onroad body from flapping around on the track, keeping the aerodynamic nature of the body intact. This design will help any full-bodied car – touring cars, Short Course truck and even pan cars. The idea is that the body stays stiff and doens’t allow air to funnel under the flapping side panels. Another benefit is that, should you get hit in either rear quarter-panel on the track, these pieces will help prevent the dreaded body tuck! Now, if I can just find a way to make them work on my other cars!

The List – November 2015 – Team Associated RC10B5M Champions Edition
5. Team Associated RC10B5M Champions Edition
How many of you would like to own a World Championship winning offroader? Well, Team Associated now offers one – the same car used by Spencer Rivkin to win the 2015 IFMAR World Championship! Well, ok, it’s not the actual car, but it is a B5M with every part he used. Sure, it’s limited edition and sure, it’s may not be meticulously built, but it is a great starting point to your racing career. Thanks AE for letting us little guys feel World Champion-y … and congrats on making the final slot in this month’s The List.
