Team Associated RC8T4.2 and RC8T4.2e Team Kits
Team Associated has unveiled the RC8T4.2 Team Kits – a Nitro version and an E-version.
The RC8t4.2 is the latest evolution of its championship-winning 1/8-scale nitro truggy platform. Developed through extensive testing by the company’s Area 51 engineering team and factory drivers, the new truck introduces a range of refinements aimed at improving consistency, durability and cornering performance on today’s demanding race tracks. Key updates include revised suspension geometry, updated drivetrain components, improved chassis balance and new setup options that give racers more tuning flexibility while maintaining the proven race-winning DNA of the RC8 platform.
The RC8T4.2e Team Kit brings the same next-generation performance improvements to Team Associated’s electric-powered truggy platform. Designed for serious competition, the 4WD kit features a revised chassis layout optimized for modern electronics, updated drivetrain components for improved efficiency and durability and suspension refinements that deliver increased stability and predictability over rough terrain. The platform also offers flexible battery placement and weight distribution options, allowing racers to fine-tune handling characteristics to match varying track conditions and driving styles.
Both the RC8T4.2 and RC8T4.2e represent the next step in Team Associated’s 1/8-scale truggy lineup, sharing the same race-developed suspension geometry, updated drivetrain technology and chassis refinements born from extensive factory racing experience. This is great news if you have (or are going to get) one of each – shared parts means less spares you need to carry around for each.

What I Like:
I really do like the truggy class (E-version only, thank you), so seeing a new version means the class is doing well. And, while they look kind of odd, I do like the ‘pickup truck’ style body. It’s just crazy to me how they can get everything so low to make these trucks look like this.
What I’m Not Sure About:
While a premier class, an 1/8 scale setup is not cheap. For that kind of money, you’d think a body would be included in both kits!
