Kraken RC, a company known for the killer large-scale Class 1 buggy rides, has announced the VESLA.5 C1G/E multi-power system 1/5 scale offroad buggy!
This new 2WD buggy is quite unique, having a footprint the size of HPI’s Baja but with much wider arms, a caged chassis, polycarbonate body panels and Mega big bore shocks. It comes in two different styles – gas or electric – but, with the addition of a few parts, can be interchanged between the two to mix things up a bit!
Both kits come in RTR trim, the gas including a K320 2-Stroke 32cc engine while the E-version including a 780kV brushless motor and 200A ESC (8S LiPo batteries are sold separately). Both kits come with 60kg servos and a 2.4GHz radio system.

What We Like:
We had one of the original VEKTA.5 buggies and it was a blast to drive! It actually handled quite well, but we’re expecting the VESLA.5 to outperform it. The ability to use either a gas or E-power on the same chassis is cool, however we’d go straight to the 8S power for some seriously monster runs!
What We’re Not Sure About:
The price. $1600 ($1700 for the gas) is up there for sure, but if you think about how much you put into ANY RC you buy, it really isn’t all that bad.
