Yokomo has announced the GT1, a 1/12 scale car designed with new drivers in mind!
This car is quite simple and is based on a 1/12 scale pan car. Both the front and rear suspension is very basic – front coil over kingpin setup and rear ‘flexi’ chassis. The rear axle is a direct-drive setup (like a pan car) and can house a standard 540-sized brushless motor.
The beauty of these cars, though, is the new GT bodies that will be available. Yokomo has teased what looks to be an Acura NSX complete with GT styling – front spoiler, bulky fenders and a rear wing.
This car will also roll along on a specific set of GT wheels and tires.

What We Like:
Something like this is a sure-fire way to get people into the hobby! The GT1 should be relatively inexpensive (depending on if it’s RTR or kit) and, with the gorgeous GT1 bodies, will really attract the racing crowd. We can totally see this being a Spec class at the club-level event.
What We’re Not Sure About:
Hopefully it’s inexpensive, hopefully it makes its way to the States!
