7-Time F1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton was actually quite the RC Racer when he was a kid. In this video, he talks a little about his days in RC, how it taught him about mechanics and maintenance and how it steered him towards a path that ultimately led to his Formula 1 career.

We’ve said it all along – RC teaches kids (well, anyone actually) those exact trades plus a bit about Sportsmanship. It’s ok to lose, but do it graciously, and use what you’ve learned to step up your game at the next event.

Obviously it worked for Hamilton.
