Got an RC10 Classic? They you’ll love these new carbon fiber upgrade parts – 2.5mm front shock tower and battery brace – from JConcepts. What We Like: First off, we love the fact that JConcepts is continuing to support classic rides like the RC10. That car is still quite relevant, especially with the Vintage National-type …

The Build – Part 8 The final step in the RC10 build is the body. I decided to have the body painted in Jay Halsey’s World Championship colors…but with a slight 2013 twist. Larry Genova did it up complete with the driver and gave me exactly what I was looking for…again! The car looks great …

The Build – Part 7 The wheels and tires on the RC10 Classic are excellent reproductions of the original set. These tires were molded by Proline and are a little softer than the originals. I’m happy to see that AE even included the cool plastic knock offs. Build Notes: While the screw-together wheels are good …

The Build – Part 6 In Part 6 of our build, we’ll work on installing the electronics. Even though this is a vintage build, we won’t be installing vintage electronics. The RC10 Classic will be getting a full range race-spec XP, LRP and Reedy equipment to get ‘er up and going with the least amount …

The Build – Part 5 Part 5 of our build focuses on the shocks. Before you ask, yes, the shocks are ‘Classic’ as well, using the old-skool internal loading with the snap clips to keep the seals in place. While this was a pain back in the day, it appears AE has either made new …

The Build – Part 4 In Part 4 of the RC10 Classic build, we attach the rear suspension and assemble the turnbuckles. Build Notes: Unlike current cars, the roll pins that feed through the rear axles are just that, rolled steel pins. They’re a pain in the butt to install and it is easy to …

The Build – Part 3 The next assembly step involves attaching the rear bulkhead, shock tower and transmission to the chassis. Pretty straightforward with no surprises. Build Notes: Have some threadlock ready as you’ll need it for this step. We start off by assembling the rear shock tower. Insert the two 4-40 screws through the …

The Build – Part 2 In Part 2 of the RC10 Classic build, we jump into building an excellent rendition of the original 6-gear transmission. This transmission is simply over-complicated by todays standards and, because of this, the transmission build is a bit longer than most steps. It is a cool look at how things …
