Team Associated RC10 Retro 80s Ultra Champ Kit
Team Associated is going all in with the RC10 releases! This version, the Retro 80s Ultra Champ, adds some new suspension bits and a very familiar box art artwork – I’m assuming to give a nod to Tamiya’s Super Champ (AKA Fighting Buggy).
The Ultra Champ retains alot of the original features of the 1st-gen buggy – aluminum chassis, white plastic parts and period-correct wheels and tires – but now adds the following:
• New molded side guards
• New molded front bumper
• New CNC rear arm mounts with set screws
• New molded rear bulkheads
• New aluminum rear arm mount plates
• New forged aluminum rear trailing suspension arms
While the box art does look kinda cool, the body comes clear – no livery included.

Ok, I’ll admit, the Tamiya livery does look quite cool on the RC10. I’m also liking the addition of the side nerf bars…
What I’m Not Sure About:
However, I’m not sure why AE has converted their classic, industry-starting race buggy into a trailing arm Super Champ copy???
