KO Propo Digital Ride Height Gauge

KO Propo has announced a fun new toy for those looking for the ultimate pit setup – the Digital Ride Height Gauge. This little tool has a kinda-small footprint (75x22x26mm) and features a carbon fiber swing arm that, when coming in contact with the bottom of your car, displays the ride height on a small display. It has a wide measurement range – 2-38mm – so it can be used in all forms and scales of racing.

What I Like:
It’s good to see RC accepting digital help. I like the small footprint of this little gadget and, for those that love to extremely accurate measurements, this tool is for you. Something I find interesting, however, is that this particular version (by that I mean, KO’s version) uses a 3D printed case, however that cool carbon fiber arm makes up for that.
What I’m Not Sure About:
While I do believe that accuracy does help in setting up a car, I’m not sold on an $80 tool for something like ride height. Sure, it can be accurate, but since there are quite a few variables that need to be perfect to actually be accurate (spring rates, tire inserts and compounds, etc), it seems a bit much.
