The Build – Part 8 The final step in our Team Associated RC10B5M build has us gluing up some tires and mounting up the body and wing. Build Notes: To get the most out of your B5M, make sure you squirt an awesome paint job on it. This will definitely boost your lap times on …

The Build – Part 6 The B5M comes with V2 12mm Big Bore shocks. These large dampers do a fantastic job of soaking up the bumper and feature threaded bodies, 3mm shafts and updated o-rings for smoother performance. Let’s put them together. Build Notes: We’ll be filling the shocks with silicone fluid and that’s never …

The Build – Part 5 Now that you have the transmission assembled and attached, we’ll be moving on to the rear axles and turnbuckles. As with the rest of the car, both of these areas have seen major improvements over the B4. Best of all, AE has molded up a whole new set of turnbuckles; …

The Build – Part 4 Since the B5M is a mid-motor configuration, the transmission had to have a slightly different layout so that the motor would turn the rear wheels in the right direction. This new transmission now has 4 gears in it instead of 2. Also included with this buggy is the A-Team’s VTS …

The Build – Part 3 Like the front, the rear suspension is all new on the B5M. I like how the rear ballstud mount is now a separate piece; no need to buy (and replace) the entire rear chassis brace. Enough of that, let’s get on with the build. Build Notes: When installing the 2mm …

The Build – Part 2 The front suspension on the B5M has been completely revamped from the B4. If you’re an avid AE owner, you’ll want to take a few extra seconds while building to make sure you have everything pointing in the right direction. Build Notes: A few of the parts have additional markings …

The Build – Part 1 We’re starting the Team Associated B5M build with the assembly of the steering. This buggy uses a dual bellcrank design similar to the older B4 series. I rolls on precision bearings and is extremely smooth. Build Notes: Pay close attention to the build steps and how the parts go together. …
