Tamiya is the king of bad ass replica bodies in all forms of racing, but one of the best genres they reproduce has got to be rally cars.

Today they’ve announced the upcoming release of the VW Beetle Rally Edition. This beauty will be mounted on top of their MF-01X chassis and will come loaded with all kinds of scale addons – chrome bumpers, mirrors, a realistic sticker sheet and a pair of huge front-mounted driving lights.

The 4WD chassis is also ready for battle, equipped with front and rear gear diffs, rear-mounted motor and, of course, a set of Tamiya’s 26mm rally block tires.

I’ve been recently looking at the rally series in my area – this just might be the bug that bit me to get involved.
