Tamiya RC – Nuremberg Toy Fair 2026

Tamiya Ford F-150 Ranger XLT

New Tamiya items are starting to trickle to the internet from the highly anticipated Nuremberg Toy Fair in Germany. So far we’ve seen 3 hot new products with more to come – I’m sure!

The first is a re-release of the Ford F-150 Ranger XLT, a vehicle that hasn’t been seen since the 1980’s. It looks to have it’s original status re-instated, aside from a unique new front body mount system that uses a ‘clasp’ to catch onto a swivel mount up front. This hides the body mounting system – awesome – but unfortunately still retains the rear body posts.

The second in line is a new Lunch Box EVO edition – a standard Lunch Box with a massive suspension upgrade. This release is similar to the Hornet EVO (which I reviewed and was so much better than the OG kit) so, learning what I did from that kit, this upgraded van is going to be a really fun vehicle to drive.

Finally, for the 50th Anniversary, Tamiya is bringing back the Porsche 934 (1976). This kit sits on a WILD chassis – white the front seems somewhat normal, the rear motor setup uses a unique over-the-gearbox shaft design – it’s crazy looking but also, well, VERY Tamiya. One additional note on this car – a magnetic body mounting system. Is Tamiya finally doing away with body holes????
