Hitec has announced a new ultra-torque brushless servo that is perfect for 1/10 2WD/4WD offroad and touring car applications. The DB778WP is housed in an all-aluminum case with internal features like an ultra-efficient brushless motor, hardened steel gears and an industry-standard H23T output spline.
The specs are what we are interested in – a speed rating of .08 (at 8.4v) with a maximum torque range of 283.56oz (also at 8.4v).
What We Like:
It’s nice to see Hitec putting out a new, high-range servo for 1/10 applications. We’ve used their servos for a really long time in all kinds of projects. We’re looking forward to giving this servo a go in racing applications!
What We’re Not Sure About:
The speed and torque ratings are at 8.4v. While we get it, most racing applications (especially racing) only use 7.4 (or 7.6v). So, we’d be interested in what the rating would be at that voltage.
