Hobbywing has announced the Ezrun MAX10 ESC, a Generation 2 unit that is designed for 1/10 buggy, onroad and lightweight SCT/Truck/Monster Truck duty.
This ESC comes with a lot of great features – waterproof sensor-cable interface, a smart start-stop fan technology that only comes on when the ESC hits a certain temp, a new capacitor that has 74% more capacitance and is overheating protected and an upgraded sensor mode for a better throttle feel (see below for a few more features).
The Ezrun MAX10 G2 is available in an 80A (3S max) version and a 140A (4S max) version with a XT60 connector.

• Supports Turbo timing adjustment of up to 32 degrees, and in combination with the EzRun 3652/3665 G3, the maximum speed is 25% more with greater effect.
• Smart freewheeling technology enables the MAX10 G2 to have higher drive efficiency than the previous generation, resulting in lower operating temperatures and a minimum temperature of approximately 25°C lower than the previous generation.
• After connecting the ESC with the OTA Bluetooth module, you can view the data (throttle amount, voltage, current, temperature, speed and etc) in real-time through the mobile app to know the running status; The history of the running status can also be viewed by data logging.
• The IP-67 waterproof system guarantees excellent waterproofing and dust-proofing protection. The whole power system is able to drive on a variety of surfaces including mud, sand, ice, snow, and water without damaging the power unit.
What We Like:
With the RC market being 99% basher, it’s nice to see a low cost option for different platforms coming from a reputable manufacturer. In addition, this ESC has great features that someone new (or even a seasoned driver) might find helpful. Kudos to HW for making a great 2-3S and 2-4S brushless system.
What We’re Not Sure About:
Nothing. A great addition to the entry-level ESC market.
