There are only a handful of competition-level radio manufacturers out there, KO Propo being one of them. While not as mainstream as Airtronics (Sanwa) or Futaba, they do have a cult-following with the systems integrating some very interesting features.
Take the new EX-NEXT, for example. It’s their newest 2.4GHz radio system that boasts all the standard features as the other guys, but now claim to have the fastest communication speed in the industry.
What We Like:
Well, for one, we love that it doesn’t have the ‘usual’ look. It edgy, and the new white casing is bad ass! We love the telemetry, 50 model memory (although I’ve never used up the 40-model memory in my Futaba…), the 4-channel setup as well as the new XT Advanced Mode software, the stuff that lets the EX-NEXT claim the fastest, ‘high-definition’ communication speeds in the industry. We’re also diggin the built-in antenna holder in the receiver case. FINALLY – a genius antenna setup. So simple.
What We’re Not Sure About:
I’ve upgraded my radio system numerous times and can BARELY feel the difference from one to the next, so having the ‘fastest’ isn’t something that makes me want to run out and get it. I would assume that 95% of the general public would probably feel the same. And while I like the odd design of the system, the Xpansion 2 screen seems like an after thought – come on, make it white like the rest of the radio!
