Now here’s something new and innovative – ProStar RC’s Mag-Brake Electro-Magnetic Braking System!!!
This system uses a battery-powered magnetic system to actuate the brakes on your 1/8 or 1/5 scale nitro car. This system is said to provide more powerful and more consistent brakes than that of the standard setup. It’s simple design, using only 8 parts, removes up to 47 parts from a conventional setup and uses a standard 7.4v receiver pack to provide power to the system.
There’s also an app for your Android or IOS phone that allows adjustment via Bluetooth for the following:
• Bias (Front and Rear)
• Drag Brake (Front and Rear)
• Drag Brake Duration
• Brake Curve
• Static Brake Strength (to conserve power)
• Demagnetization (if required)
• Engine Temperature Monitoring with Alarm
• Receiver battery Voltage with Alarm
• Transfer Setups to Friends between Android and Ios Users
• Quick Access to different models for example back-to-back races using the same app.
• Save up to 10 models
What We Like:
Now I don’t run nitro all that often (actually, never) but even I can see how cool this system is – if it works. The idea of losing some weight and moving parts to accomplish the same thing is a great idea. And, the app is brilliant! Good list of cars for the first roll out as well: Team Associated RC8B4, TLR 8ightX, Mugen MBX8R and 1/5 Scale TLR 5IVE.
