Review: Duratrax Deluxe Hauler Bag

Review: Duratrax Deluxe Hauler Bag

We often carry a lot of RC equipment to the track or out to the field for a day of fun. Tools, chargers, spare parts, and many other items are “must haves” to ensure a fun day driving your car. Transporting all our support equipment can be a daunting task but Duratrax has made the task much easier. The new Deluxe Hauler Bag has enough room for all your equipment with room to spare.

THE FACTS
MANUFACTURER: Duratrax
PRODUCT: Deluxe Hauler bag
ITEM NUMBER: DXTP2012
PRICE: $140
DIMENSIONS: 18.9x23x 24.4”
FITS: 1/8 and 1/10 vehicles

WHAT WE LIKED
• Plastic drawers instead of the wimpy cardboard ones for on some similar bags.
• Large drawers can carry large items, including vehicles.
• Tool pouch on top makes carrying and finding your tools a snap

WHAT WE DIDN’T LIKE
I would prefer the top drawer split into two smaller ones to carry smaller items that tend to shuffle around inside the drawers

THE GOODS
The first word that comes to mind when looking at the Duratrax hauler bag is “Big”. The bag is large enough to carry all your stuff without leaving anything behind.

Review: Duratrax Deluxe Hauler BagThe bag is made of very durable fabric and looks to be of very high quality. There are many spaces to store items so that everything can come with you. The main compartment consists of three large drawers which are closed off by a large flap and secured with zippers. The three drawers are made of a durable plastic material that won’t be destroyed by water of chemicals that may leak inside. The bottom drawer is deep and accounts for approximately forty percent of the overall height. This allows for taller items to be stored upright. The drawer is the full width of the bar and just as deep. This ensures that you can fit just about anything in it, including my 1/8 scale buggy! That’s right I can carry my whole RC Car right in the bag with plenty of room to spare. The upper two drawers are both the same depth and account for about thirty percent of the overall height each. These compartments are also the full width and depth of the bag which gives you plenty of room for chargers and all your other equipment.

The top of the bag unzips to reveal a tool storage area. There are many straps that can hold all your tools individually. All the tools are secure and will not get tossed around while transporting. The best part is that they are all on top and easy to access without having to open drawers. This allows quick access at all times. In the middle of the tool pouch on top you will find a retracted handle for pulling the bag around behind you instead of having to carry it. Of course, it should be mentioned that there are two large wheels on the bottom of the bag so that it rolls around when you are bringing it to and from races. The back of the bag has a large single pouch that zips shut. This pouch is where I usually carry items such as instruction manuals, setup sheets and other flat items. It is large enough to carry your setup board which is what I believe was its intended use.

THE LAST WORD
The Duratrax hauler bag is great for carrying and storing all your items. It is very large, and made of good quality materials that are sure to last for many years. The pull handle and wheels make moving the bag around easy which is a bonus when the weight adds up and believe me, with the amount of stuff the hauler bag can carry things can get pretty heavy. No worries though, the durable drawers and excellent quality are up to the job.
