Welcome to the July 2022 edition of The List. We had about 8 cool products to post on The List from July but narrowed it down to our Top 5, so let’s check them out in no particular order.
1. JConcepts Inner Sidewall Support Adapter
The first item on this month’s List is actually quite unique – they are inner sidewall support adapters for offroad tires from JConcepts. These liners get tack-glued to the inside of the tires, offering sidewall support to prevent the tires from rolling over or deforming in high-grip situations. They are made of rubber, have an interlocking design and are available in both 1/10 and 1/8 scale variants. Pretty ingenious if you ask us and certainly deserve a spot on this month’s List!

2. Tamiya Volkswagon Golf Racing Gr.2 Re-Release
So Tamiya thought it would be a good idea to re-release the VW Golf Racing Gr.2 kit – we think they’re about to sell out of this kit on before it even hits the store shelves! This re-re will sit atop the M-05S chassis just like the original and include the gold/silver wheels and racing tires. Top that off with the killer Kamei livery and you’ve got a stunner in either daily driver or shelf queen form! This one is high on our list of must-haves and deserving of a spot on The List!

3. Hobbywing EZRUN Mini28 ESC
Up until recently, the 1/27-1/28 scale crowd has been overlooked by most electronics company. The size of the cars and room on the chassis severely limits what ESCs, receivers and servos can be used – up until now. Hobbywing has introduced the EZRUN Mini28 ESC, a full-fledged, highly-adjustable ESC for the Kyosho Mini-Z folks. It has a 2S LiPo battery limit, will work with the powerful 1626-size brushless motors and has a ton of adjustability via Bluetooth – all in a super tiny footprint. This is going to be a game-changer in the Mini-Z arena and, because of that, we think it deserves a spot in this month’s The List!

4. Jetko Rally Tires
One of our favorite classes to run is Rally, however because of its somewhat low popularity, it doesn’t get a whole lot of love. Jetko, however, has recently announced the AVANTGARDE Rally tire on two different wheels – the Claw and Radial (both looks amazing!). These tires have super detail right down to the sidewall markings and come pre-mounted – just pull them from the package and go! They do look like they’re going to be good on both tarmac and dirt – we’ll let you know soon – we have a set on their way to throw on our Tamiya XV-02! Great looking kicks – definitely deserving of a spot on The List!

5. Team Associated Apex2 Hoonicorn RTR
The final item on this month’s The List is a beauty everyone has been talking about – Team Associated’s Apex2 Hoonicorn RTR! This ride rolls along on the A-Team’s new Apex2 chassis and comes in full RTR trim. The outside is freakin’ bad ass – a 1965 Ford Mustang all decked out in Hoonicorn trim. It does come with a brushed motor setup which, at first, we thought was kind of a bummer, but then we threw a 3S pack in there and hold on boys and girls – that absolutely transformed this car. This thing was killing tires and looking great doing it. Even though Ken Block has moved on from Ford, we have to say this one is a keeper! Fun, fast and good looking – 3 checks we like to see on The List!
